Approach
The approach by the North from Jersey aiming the buoy Demie de Vascelin is more easier than the approach by the South, which alignment is not very visible from far.
The approach by the East is made from the marker Le Coq (at 1,5NM East from Maîtresse Ile) lining the marker Jetée des Fontaines de Bas (RW, at 340° and 1500 m from te mast of Maîtresse Ile) on the lef of the Grand Vascelin (N 49° 00’ W 02° 07’ 2"). This lining is quite frightening.
By fair weather, at low tide, during stream slack and with a small boat, it is possible to go away the usual way and find desert beaches in the middle of nowhere. Somewhere South the rocks of Sud Bas, one should sail to the WSW then up to the East of Grune Bar. Sail slowly and look forward, then ground when the place seems good for. At low tide, the water is perfectly clear, and there are on the islets some mooring rings. But do not stay too long and sail away as soon as tides Goes up.
About the dreamy anchorage South of Maîtresse Ile, it becomes a nightmare at high tide. It is almost more comfortable to anchor at sea and probably less dangerous.
