Dangers | The fairway entry is very sandy on starboard! Vessels with a draught >2m shall be cautious and sail the fairway more on port side (with care anyway to the rocks marked by red buoys). When it is time to turn on starboard to go to the marina, do not go straight to the door after the breakwater (guaranteed grounding!). The passage marked by 4 buoys (red/green) is to be imperatively respected (stay well in the middle or near the red buoys because, at that moment, the sand bank is on starboard).
When the lock is closed (draught less than 7m) and that you approach the entry of the fairway, it is then better to call the lock to ask on which side the doors are open because it is not very agreable for big draught vessels to wait before the doors when it is windy for the reason explained above. |
